What makes you a European? And how does that show?
I think it makes me European that my ancestors came from several places all around Europe and their lives were heavily influenced by WWII . I am glad that I know my grandparents’ story to realize that Europe is so tiny and we are all connected.
Travelling around Europe from an early age and being able to speak several languages makes me feel being in a good place nearly everywhere I go around Europe.
Furthermore I always realize that European people have something in common when I talk to people from the US, because they do not seem to know a lot about European culture at all.
What would Europe in your imagination be / look like?
In my imagination there would not be any nationalism, we would all work together for our future and enjoy the different cultures that we can celebrate. I know Germany benefits a lot from the EU and is a big concurrent to other European countries. I hope Germany would start to be a better leader. For example Germany does not do any sanctions to the undemocratic things that are going on in Hungary only because German companies produce there.
I also hope for Europe that it will find the strength to have a clear opinion in world wide politics and to stop being so focused on the US.
Can you describe one day in future europe?
On a future day in Europe I will have a lot of delicious food in the morning because trade is still free in Europe and I can get everything I need, hopefully from organic crops without Glyphosat. During the day I will work on an international project dealing with sustainability for the world. I am sure in my future job I must be able to fulfill tasks speaking several languages. In the evening I will watch the news and they will be informing me about many European topics.
